The rising star maintains considerable online following
Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known backers when she begins her LPGA debut later this week.
This teenage golfer, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates multiple golf courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play competitive games," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, told her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He practically advised me to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
However she can get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"And he's a more impressive individual. He told me to compete, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in professional golf at this tournament, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Officials stated that her participation brings the sport to different demographics, specifically reaching youth audiences.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
